About us

At the junction of two designated scenic byways, Kingfish at West Sound is a treasured Orcas Island gem.  It is just steps away from the sparkling waters of West Sound, the hiking trails of Turtleback Mountain, the bucolic farms of Crow Valley and the quaint shops of Eastsound.

Our intimate Inn includes four suites, each uniquely furnished to provide gracious, unpretentious comfort. All rooms feature stunning views of West Sound, the marina and the San Juan Islands and Olympic Mountains beyond.

HISTORY

The Kingfish building was built in 1902 with old growth clear fir beams and thick cedar siding. Its easy access to waterways, verdant farmlands and orchards made its location one of the most desirable on the island. As the population of West Sound grew, the building transformed into the West Sound General Store, the center of community life. Today, it continues to be a place where locals and visitors alike gather for a good meal and comfortable stay.
